Hi Friends, welcome to Brandy Fitz Art!
My name is Brandy Fitzpatrick (shortened to Fitz, I don’t even spell my last name correctly half the time, so don’t worry, I don’t expect you to either!) and I am a full time mixed media artist from Fort McMurray Alberta Canada.
I have been creating art in many different mediums for the majority of my life, but I currently love painting with acrylic paints in bold contrasting colours, as well as using texture medium, metallic paints and pens, and gold leaf . Basically give me alllll the bright and shiny things!
I have also found a lot of joy this past year doing grey scale studies on some of my favourite pop culture subjects, mainly super heroes and villains. It may seem like a big deviation from my colourful animal paintings but these paintings and characters have a huge place in my giant nerdy heart and I am so glad for all the positive feedback they’ve been getting!
I have been a reiki master and tarot card reader for over 10 years and a yoga instructor for about 8. I have a deep love of crystals, nature, symbolism, sacred geometry, animal guides, and just witchy shit in general, all of which can often be found in much of my artwork. (P.S I also swear a lot, sorry not sorry)
Aside from being an artist, I am the proud wife to a firefighter and a stay at home mom of 4! I also deal with chronic pain and illness on a daily basis and like everyone, have good days and bad days, but am doing my best which is what really matters. That being said, I can be a bit scatter brained, am very sleep deprived, chug coffee like no ones business, and am often not sure what day of the week it is, but at least the kids are all fed right?
Art has always been a way for me to process events and emotions in my life and has allowed me to create beauty out of pain. To merge the chaos with the joy and to create something heartfelt and meaningful. It is an honour to share this with you.
